Propeller size 40 DA 3116's

Propeller size 40 DA 3116's,
Replaced wheels and lost 4 knots, I was told the replacements were the same size as the badly damaged props removed, however performance tells me there not.

Just pulled mine; 22 x 23 with 1-3/4 shafts

What was your WOT RPMs before the prop swap and what are your WOT RPMs after the prop swap? What was your cruise Speed before the prop swap and what is your cruise speed after the prop swap? At what RPMs did/do you cruise? Do you know if the damaged props were the original props on the boat or were they ever changed out before.

It could be that you were overpropped before the prop swap and that you are now underpropped .... or vice versa.....or correctly propped.

Your details say you own a 48DB with 3196s....?????

Hello Dom,
This is owned by a freind who I handle all the mechanicles. the props were damaged and replaced with new resulting in a decrease in cruising speedof 2-3 knots. the props were just tuned and a light cup added. The orginal had a LC.
we'll see when she floats if the cruising speed returned.

Once she's back in, run her through the RPM range upto WOT. Record the GPS speed and RPM in 100 rpm intervals. Accurate Tachs would help, but you will have to make due with what you have. Also....full load....full fuel, water, stuff and POB. Keeping in mind, since your in NJ, the temps and water will be cool and the bottom will be clean. You will be running under ideal conditions. Post back with the results.
