Looking to buy an on-board intelligent battery charger capable of charging the dual battery setup on my Select 250 when I have it parked in the driveway. I would rather purchase a high quality product the first time, rather than a piece of unreliable junk. Your reccomendations of brands to consider as well as specic models would be much appreciated. Thanks

I had a GUEST twin 10 amp charger on our Four Winns 248 Vista and it performed flawlessly. They also make a triple 10 amp charger if you have three batts. Would recommend them anytome. Reasonable price and great chargers.

SLX 250 or 220? I ask b/c the 250 comes with optional shore power and charger, while the 220 does not. If it's the 220, how do you intend to power the on-board charger while on the driveway?

those Guest chargers are not bad except they can not be repaired because all chassis is sealed with plastic

Yes , thos old black ones were ... I think the new current line is different ... but then again ... are pair might cost more than a new one anyway in case it breaks. I have found these to be very reliable.

The dual battery setup in my 260DA uses a Guest 20 Amp Charger.
This is an electronic "intelligent" battery charger that will not overcharge your batteries (I have yet had to add water to my batteries after a full year of ownership). Here is a picture of the one installed in my 260DA (the terminal cover is removed in this picture).

Just an idea ...

Moneypitt.

If you went with the guest, you could wire up the 120V side with a dangling male plug, say three feet long that might have a retaining velcro strap on the bulk head. When you have shore power available, you string your extension cord to the locker the charger is in and just plug in!

If you go this way, secure the pig tail to the wall securely so the retaining straps take any strain and not the connections.

This Guest model looks like a good answer and will charge three banks. Add another deep cycle and a small inverter and shzaam! You've got power for the big screen!

This one is a 10/10 for two batteries even though it seems to be inthe same housing as the 10/10/10 for three. YOu can see the center terminals are not installed for the third battery. These Guest chargers are great !

Big ditto on what Dave said about the Guest charger. I had the dealer install one when I purchased my 240SD. The 2006 models did not come with the options from SeaRay. They installed the shore power and a Guest charger. Works Great.
