Question: 2005 220 Sundeck good deal?

Hi,

So a friend of a friend is selling a 2005 220 sundeck which I am considering, as my boat's motor is likely in need of some major work, and I am wondering if it's wise to invest in that or get a new boat. The price is $18,000, and the boat is very clean. I have no frame of reference here and the prices online tend to be a little all over the place. Plus the season is ending.

Any help would be appreciated.

A friend recently bought an '05 SD in need of an engine for 6k. He put a reman engine in it and sold it for 20k in 2 days.

That is a fair to good price for a well kept 220. Boats lost 25% of their value September 1st.

What motor/drive does it have, and does it come with a trailer?

I paid $15k for my 2003 with 6.2l/bravo 3 plus $3k for the aluminum trailer. At first blush I would say it’s a fair deal. Not slanted towards buyer or seller.
