I have a Mercruiser 350 Mag. in my 2005 240SD. The marine is telling me that the waterpump is leaking due to a crack AFTER they changed the impeller. I am assuming this is the waterpump that the impeller sits in that Mercruiser changed from brass to plastic?

Is that the only waterpump on this engine? Also, the marine is having a hard time finding this Mercruiser part - I have used quicksilver parts in other engine parts and they have worked and lasted wonderfully - has anyone used a quicksilver waterpump? If so, any advice?

You have a raw water pump and a circulating pump.

Quicksilver is the same as Merc - just boxed differently so it can be sold in a non-Merc certified shop. What they're probably trying to tell you, though, is that they're having a hard time finding it in stock anywhere. Parts availability is EXTREMELY hit or miss right now.

Thanks Lazy Daze! Is one of them connected to the cool fuel (?) module?

The circ pump is just like a car's water pump. The raw water pump sucks in lake water and pushes it to the circ pump. Raw water is circulated through the cool fuel pump (and other places) along the way for cooling. But, no, it's not connected to CF.

I bought mine from Amazon $375.00
All Brass
