I wasn't losing prime, but when I had my mechanics out for my first service after buying the boat they commented on the dirty Racors (not the elements, but the housings) that had a bit of brown slime buildup to the point where you couldn't see into the bowls. They suggested I disassemble and clean them, and replace the checkball/seal as part of that service, which I did. The checkball/seal kit includes the rubber seal and the aluminum checkball only.
