So help me figure this out. Whenever I start my starboard engine I get a load "POP" from the radio speakers. It's kind of startling if you don't expect it. Even if I turn down the volume, there is still a loud pop. Any ideas and/or solutions?

Had something very similar. Ended up being the battery charger. Replaced and no noise.

So how did you figure out it was the battery charger?

Im guessing the stereo is powered up at the time you are starting the engine? If so, turn the stereo off and test. If its still popping, then I suspect the amps are turned on vie a different source then the head unit's remote turn-on.

My gut says the battery voltage for either the head unit or the amp(s) is dropping too low during cranking, and the system is doing a quick cycle, then coming back on with a hot signal to the amp. Not actual music, just a quick voltage dump to create the pop.

Process of elimination. Went to the main panel after suspecting something electrical was causing the problem and started turning off each breaker. When I turned off the charger the noise stopped. I was going to replace the charger anyway down the road. Installed new and no noise.

Awesome. Going to give it a try. Thanks.
