My C-80 chartplotter doesn't have very good contrasting colors between water depths. It's all light blue. Am I supposed to read those little sounding numbers while underway to get a sense of water depths??? Does anyone else have a problem with this? Is there a setting I am not seeing? Finally, when I am tracking my route the line created is as thin as a hair. Is there a way to create a nice thick colored route tracking line? So far my Garmin 541S is way superior. Help.

I didn't try to midify the line thikness, but I always change the color of my routes to make it stand out from others on the chart. If leaving it with default color it's easy to mix your routes with ICW, for example.

Hope this helps.

With my C90W I didn't have a clue as to what, where, and how????
The reference disc they gave me with my package was great if i had a lap top attached to the helm to see how to do what:smt021

And printing out the manual??270 pages??? fagedaboutit:smt009

I called them at Ray Marine and said i needed a book of instructions, and had no printer to print out the disc and needed a manual to answer the same questions you have.and more....

They printed out the manual and sent it to me FREE with the binder holes incl......:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Brewster16,
Did you ever figure out how to make the route line more visible? I've tried all the colors and I still have trouble seeing the line. It goes to a dashed line from your position to the next waypoint and I find this really hard to see. I did find if I decluter the chart it's easy to see but I also would like to thicken it if possible so I can run with all information up on the screen.

If you can't find your answer in the manual for C80, then simply contact RM and they'll help you.

Nah, I never worked on it. Fall is here and boat is on the hard. I'll probably work on it by calling Raymarine in the spring. But, something tells me my Garmin will always be by GPS navigation tool of choice.

I've had Garmin units in the past and I have to say I liked them. The Raymarine is great too, seems more technically oriented which can try your patience in rough seas with old eyes trying to see a small screen that gets smaller every year. How does that happen? I have found Raymarine is very helpful with answering questions in the past, I'll have to contact them on this one. For now I don't see a way to change it.
