So my Smartcraft vessel display allows me to offset the depth so I am always looking at the true depth of the water I'm in. The depth reading on my E120, however shows 2.8 feet less than the Smartcraft reading and I want them to both be the same, and both be set to the accurate depth of the water. Currently the E120 reading is totally useless, as it is not true depth, not depth under keel and not depth under propeller, it's just wrong. My question: where the heck is the setting to offset the depth on the E120? I'm about to give up trying to find it....

Also, someone told me last weekend, they got a chip for their E120 that allows them to punch in a destination and the software plots a course to the destination. Anyone have this? what's it called? Like?

I am not at my boat but I believe you bring up the depth fnder on the screen and then push the menu button. There you shoud find the offset setting.

I tried this weekend but still couldn't get it to offset the depth on the chartplotter. Very frustrating. Let me know if you find it on yours.....

I tried this on mine as well and couldn't do it. Looks like from the manual that an offset function is only available if there is a Raymarine fish finder DSM installed. As to inaccuracy, since both displays are getting their data from the same source, they should be the same. You may want to zero out the offsets on the Smartcraft and compare readings.

James,
I tried and couldn't figure it out either. Curious to see if anyone knows about the chip that will chart a course.

Sorry!

Jon

I agree with Al, but I think there's more to it. I have DSM300 installed, but the transducer is only for depth, no fish finder feature. I think that for this reason transducer settings and DSM settings are disabled.

I can't see what sub-menu there is, but it's very possible that the setting you're looking for is there.

If you have DSM and fishfinder capable transducer, you should be able to get to the setting.
