Quick question... I have an older Raymarine R11xx radar on my boat. When I power the unit up for the day, it works fine. What I visually see, I can verify against the screen, and it matches. As the unit stays on over time, say within 15-30 mins, I notice that what I see on the screen does not match what I see visually. It does not pick up a huge majority of the boats or the shoreline. No matter how much I adjust the gain or tune, it does not change the screen but maybe for a quick second, and then it's back to being hit or miss.

Is this an adjustment on the radar or is the magnetron going bad? I'd hate to upgrade the unit because I'm on a relatively small lake and it's a bit overkill, however, I do find the radar quite useful at times. Maybe I can find a good used one somewhere or send it in for a repair.

It most likely is the magnetron from your description. But face it that is a cathode ray tube display probably 20+ years old.
You may be able to get a magnetron if you get the part number off the existing unit, they are only made by a few companies. The magnetron will be around $300-500. Small magnetrons only have a 2000+/- hour life. Even if it is the problem what is going to fail next? If you poke around the setup/maintnence/tuning menus many units had a "transmit hours" or "heater hours" section.

If you like Raymarine products there are many older units on ebay.
Here is a pathfinder RL series dome with 760 hours from Max Marine $499

Can that unit use the same screen I have and the existing cable?

Max Marine is an electronics sales company that specializes in older equipment removed during upgrades or salvage.
I have used them on a number of occasions and they seem to be good people.
As you can see in there postings they test and confirm operation and provide facts not just opinions.
I'm sure you could ebay or email message them and they could confirm if it is a drop in replacement.
On this add they explicitly point out this unit is only for the older RL/SL series systems.
