Hi Sea Ray Members!
I had an experience I would like to share and could potentially save some of you large headaches. I had a Sharp convection microwave, model R-820BK on my 460 Sundancer. The display went out so I went searching for parts and discovered the parts costs as much as a new microwave. In this process, I learned Sharp model R830BK (black) or R30BS (Stainless Steel) is the direct replacement. Here is the issue, Sharp has discontinued the microwave... good news is there are still a few around (until all of you order one) and they are highly discounted. I paid 199.00 free shipping and no tax from appliancesconnection.com but there are other sites that still have them. My advice, is go ahead an replace yours while you can get one that fits in the hole.
As a side note, I still have my old one, it works perfect except the control panel. If anyone needs parts, I'll hook them up, or if anyone has one they are going to junk, I would love the control panel as a spare.
For once, 200 bucks could save you a much larger issue.
