Hello. Bought a used boat and want to remove the metallic decals on the stern. aside from picking the bits of decal off millimeter by millimeter, figured I would ask if there is a fiberglass-safe product out there. Was thinking goo gone or something, but didn't know if it would mess the fiberglass up.

thanks for any help

I've always used acetone. Cleaned up what I needed then buffed and polished then followed with wax.

Erasing wheel from 3M you can find them on Amazon

Heat gun is your best friend removing decals. Then acetone or brake cleaner to get any residue off. Just be sure to wipe it off quickly and not let it set, or it can harm your gel coat. A heat gun will make short work of removing the bulk of the decals.

First try a heat gun. If they still come off in small pieces, then move to the eraser wheel. Just don't let the surface get too hot when you use the wheel.
