Ref oil change

HI GUYS
GOING TO CHANGE OIL FILTER I USE QUICK SILVER 25/40
ON MY 50L MPI 2004 quick silver now say use 25/40 synthetic over the 25/40 what do your think would that be better for long trips

I personally would stay with the manufacturer's recommended type of oil. You can't go wrong but there are experts here that may differ...

Oil: Mercruiser Full Synthetic 20W40 858088K1. This is the latest recommended oil from Mercruiser...

My MarineMax dealer still does not stock the synthetic so I've been using the regular oil. I don't think it's work the extra shipping costs to buy it online. I do use syn in my cars and would use the Mercruiser syn in the boat without any hesitation.

I couldn't even find it from BOE. In fact, a Google search only turned up Merten Marine selling it.
