I am getting closer to purchasing a 2000 Sea Ray 410 Sundancer. One of the items that I know will need to be replaced on this boat is the refrigerator. Does anyone know the model of the fridge for this boat? Or a preferred replacement? This is for the full-size fridge in the galley--not the cockpit fridge. I just want to get a sense of price for the replacement.

Thanks!

Sounds like you have a Norcold. Replacement cost is approximately $1200 to $1500. I replaced my Norcold with a Viterfrigo it is the same form factor but has a larger capacity and is a better unit for approximately the same price. The problem you might have is getting the new unit through the cabin door on the Sundancer. There have been many postings regarding this problem with DA's.

Good luck with your new boat & welcome to CSR. Art

It's probably a DE-561, and Art is right - getting it out and a new one in won't be fun, and then the challenge of fitting the panels begins.

Bay Area Cooling will replace the cooling unit in your salon and re-install for aboutthe cost of a whole new fridge. You'd still have an old fridge, but less hassle.

Thanks for all the feedback.

Mystic, did you do the install yourself? How many hours?

I did not do it myself. My local MarineMax tech said he was experienced in doing the replacement, so I let them do it- labor was around 2 1/2 hours - I think around $300. He had to partially disassemble the old Norcold and remove the cabin door, but it did fit! I love the Vitrifrigo- quiet and cold!

I just replaced my frig in a 400DA. Much the same lay out as your boat. There is a lot to it; getting the old out and the new in. This a DIY deal. One thing for sure; replacing the Norcool is a good thing. The whole thing can be done but there is a lot to it. Give me an e-mail and I will go through he low down.

+1 I have a Vitrifrigo - Love it!

Hi I have a 2002 and need to replace the fridge. It was never turned on (original owner never used it) and apparently that is a bad thing. I bought the boat end of August. Just wondering if you have any pics of your new fridge and how you like to Vitrifrigo?

Thanks
Robert

What model Vitrifrigo is everyone installing in their Sea Rays?

Thanks,
Ray
I replaced my original Vitrifrigo 8.0 with their new 8.1 size in November of 21. The model is the same the DP2600

I replaced both sets on my 480 with the Vitrfrigo 180. I believe it was DW180. I did not get the units with the inverter, but wish I would have.

How is the Vitrifrigo on frost accumulation. Will the freezer keep ice cream at least semi frozen? I’m planning to replace my original Norcold , still contemplating the options.

Put a Vitrifrigo 2600 in our 410 three years ago and very satisfied. Defrost once a month and always hard ice cream.
