Remote Oil Filter For 5.0L

I was just curious why Mercruiser would not install the remote oil filter system on the carb version of the 5.0L. It just seems like it would make it alot easier for the do-it-yourselfer to change the oil if the unit was installed from the factory. By the way, I have a 2008 205 Sport with the 5.0L V8. It is an option that the dealership can order with the boat. That is an option that is often overlooked by the potential buyer, like me. Until the first oil change comes. Anyways, you can add the remote oil filter adapter. It screws onto the current location and then several tubes carry the new filter mount location to near the gear lube reservoir.
