I've searched the plethora of threads on icemakers & refrigerators but could not find one that answers this question. Tried pulling the icemaker out of our '99 40 Dancer today. Got stuck quick and didn't see an obvious answer that would not require a lot of work.

Could anyone provide the "trick" to pull it out? I've attached pix (sorry, they are pretty bad.) The problem is the lower part of the unit is below the door opening. The unit is very tight to the top cut-out, so it won't tilt back from the bottom and pull out. Hoping i don't have to completely dissasemble all the panels in this and the adjacent compartment.

Like many, my plan is to replace this non-operating unit with a refrigerator.

Thanks in advance for your help.

On mine boat.
There is a block of wood ( pressure treated ) at the back of the ice maker.

In order to get it in or out (don't ask me why I have done this numerous times over the past 3 seasons) you need to tilt forward/lift the ice maker up and over that block.

I believe it is there to keep ice maker from sliding out of the opening.

Again, mind you this is on my boat.

Dan

Hope this helps

Looks like the scews are still attached on the outside flange...need to remove the 4 screws. Sorry if the pic was taken before you removed them. Should slide right out.

It will come out. I had ours out to replace the port fuel tank sender which is directly below the ice maker on our boat. As I recall you just remove the screws all around and tilt to remove it. As you know the bottom of the unit has to be lifted up for removal. Patience and sobriety will help.

Good luck,
Warren
