Hi - the brass logo emblems on the sides of my radar arch (2000 310 Sundancer) really could use some refinishing.
What's been done by anyone to refresh these? Are they just held on by adhesive, like car emblems, or are they screwed in somewhere?
Thanks,
Keith

I removed the gold and replaced with chrome I purchased from a marine dealer about $35 per side + $15 each for the wave. There is a guy that sells on Ebay but I hear he can be difficult to deal with. They are adhesive so they remove best with a heat gun and putty knife. If you can’t find them let me know and I will check my guys for you. MM

The factory ones are metal and plated. I pulled mine off by tapping a chisel under each end. They pull right up. Then paint thinner to dissolve the left over adhesive.

I bought the ones off Ebay. I think they where $80 shipped for both sea-ray and the wave in chrome. They are plastic now but cheap enough to replace if something hurts them.

we used to have a guy come to the cadillac dealer i worked at in traverse city mi that could re do the metal emblems ,even with gold if you liked it was a cool mod for caddy guys .it was electronically melted to the surface of the part.

Go to page 7 of your parts manual here

Exterior Graphics - they have part numbers for the gold or the silver. Call Marine Max and order them up. I replaced mine a couple of years back. I had a completely different emblem which I wasn't in love with - something like this...

so I bought these other two that I liked and created a new combo. I think the oval one was $35 and the silver one was $14 (from Marine Max)

Finally removed them - yup, plastic coated with some kind of metallic finish... Popped them off with fishing line used as dental floss. Took awhile with fingernails and then Oops to remove all the adhesive. I think I'll wait before replacing them, it looks really nice and clean with nothing on there. Although I do like the setup Ron did, very classy...

Thanks Keith
My "arrangement" was stolen from two SR logos that I liked. The black oval was from a neigbor with a 200X 320DA. The script Searay was original to the boat and is still used in other applications. What I took off was a raised plastic thing, sort of like an upside down soup bowl, with a chrome SR in the center. It was actually screwed into the fiberglass with about 6 stainless screws and it had a plywood core, which was soaked and rotting away. Anyway, that setup comes up NLA so I filled in the screw holes and "designed" this replacement. Before purchasing, I made a paper mock-up and taped it in place to see if the size would work and figure out how to arrange them to see if they'd work together.

Reminds me that I like the new "Sundancer" emblem. Kinda squared off chrome letters. Wouldn't mind playin with placement locations on ours.

I do, too. I've been getting rid of all the "gold" stuff - even re-did the striping in a pewter/silver color. I did the same thing that Ron did - drew it up on paper and moved it around till I liked it. I even played with the larger size "squared off" Sundancer, but it just didn't look right on a small boat. I then had "two sixty" printed up in script vinyl letters and put that below, right the Sundancer. I thought the squared Sundancer gave it a modern look, but the script "two sixty" kept it classy.
