Hi, new to the forum. Just picked up an 07 44 Sundancer last week and I'm getting some things up to date, the 3 DVD players are horrible. Two don't work and the other one only works 15% of the time.

I'd like to switch to Blu-Ray but doubt the TVs have HDMI connections so I'll need to make certain the new players have the old school connections. I'm not wanting to get into a TV replacement project just yet. The DVD Players (if you can call them that) are the CyberHome CH-DVD 300 models. Product dimensions show 9x9x3 and there's not even an 1/8" to space, so I need to stay right at the 9" number or just a tab below.

Two Questions please:
1. If you've replaced them, what did you use?
2. How did you get them out? I tried to simply pull and t didn't want to move.

Thanks,
Michael

I'm not familiar with your cabin lay out but our 340 had a bad dvd player that fed the galley tv. They replaced it with what looks like a dvd player meant for a car. The original flatpanel tv is still there. We don't watch TV (no digital tuner) but sometimes one of the kids will watch a movie on it if they aren't interested in what the other is watching on the larger salon tv. I know the galley dvd player must have traditional RCA outputs because the tv itself doesn't have HDMI. I can get the model of it if you like. Only down side - it's not blueray.

I did mount a blue ray player in place of the 6 cd changer in the power panel. There's a thread I did on it on CSR.

i think you will be able to easily find a Blu-ray player with both the traditional 'red-yellow-white' RCA connections as well as HDMI..........when you do replace the TV's you will have the needed HDMI connections available....some of the new Blu-ray players are compact and will fit in small spaces....most ads on the internet will give the dimensions of the players in the ad and tell you what type of input/output connections it has....

Thanks guys. I've seared and searched for DVD/Blu Ray players. There is only 1 that is anywhere close to the same size. It's a $199 Toshiba BluRay player. Most are wider than the 9" opening that is cut into the cabinetry. I've had to look at dimensions of more than 100 players and at this point Blu Ray or DVD doesn't matter to me. Just want something that looks clean.

Next question, does anyone know how these things even come out of the cabinet? Do I just need to pull harder? It appears they are siliconed down to a black piece of wood, wondering how the black wood is attached inside. Again, it is a very tight fit to begin with.

You would be surprised at just how easy a simple mod really is. It's kind of like 'nip tuk' on your SR.
