I have an 07 44 DA and want to replace all of the interior lights from halogen to LED. Have 2 questions...

1. How does the light cover come off? I couldn't seem to twist it, although I wasn't trying very hard because I didn't want to break anything. Most of my lights appear to be the ones where you can direct the light to a specific spot, so they move within the housing.

2. What type does the fitting require?

Thank you!

If the same fixture as a 2005 390DA, the fixture should pop down as they are secure to the ceiling panel by two spring clamps. Some of these can be stubborn to get out. I've found the use of two table spoons to do an effective job of prying them down enough to get your fingers in to pull the rest of the way. The spoons aid getting things started with no damage to the surrounding ceiling material or light fixture. Just take care when you pull the fixture completely out as those spring clamps will clamp your fingers like a mouse trap.

As to replacement LED's...the options are many from replacing the whole fixture itself or just bulb conversion and you will likely get numerous suggestions here on both. I went with just LED bulbs and used a product from LunaSea. They have the G4 back pin so they plug right into the existing fixture.

If they are just like the ones I just replaced all my bulbs in you just grab and pull like a mutha. There are two mouse-trap like clips on them, watch your fingers.

I can't remember what the fitting is called but it as two wires coming out the end of the bulb.

Sea Ray used several types of fixtures... the "task lights" which are the ones you can aim, the lens pops out of the front. Look for a slot where you can insert a small screwdriver to pop the lens out. The other popular style that sits flush to the ceiling, are spring loaded so you grab hold with your finger nails and ease it out. Watch out for the springs as they will act like a mouse trap and get your fingers.

Some take G4's and others a wedge base.

Do a search here... there have been many threads on the subject.

Edit: And some of us type slower than others... I'm the slow guy!
