Right now we have this (granted, it's 20 years old) and we HATE it. It doesn't flush all that easy (seems like I have to pump it 1,000 times to empty the bowl and it gets going, it starts to swish around in the bowl). My husband checked the joker valve and that isn't the problem. The pump itself has a teeny bit of spray when pumping.
I ordered NoFlex Digestor and it will be delivered tomorrow. I hope it works because my husband wants to replace the whole thing!
With that said, if we DO replace with a newer model, does anyone have any suggestions as to what we should upgrade to? The Captain says he's done with manual flush!

I can't help you, Karen, but I'm in the same "bowl" as you and will be watching this thread!

We had a "manual flush" toilet that used sea water to flush on our first boat. My wife hated it with a passion and it always stunk no matter what we did. Mind you it was a new toilet on a brand new boat and it was a pain. Our boat now has a Vacuflush toilet that uses potable water to flush, HUGE difference! Works great and since we started using noflex not even a hint of odor. Wife loves it so I'm happy.

I just fitted a TMC electric which I have named "Niagara" serious flush at the push of a button. The only problem is the kids like to play with it, still beats flushing after them!

+1 for Vacuflush! It uses potable water and that makes the difference. Moreover is reliable and odorless. May be pricey, but it's worth it!

Thanks for the replies!

We're willing to spend whatever amount it takes to be happy water campers! One of the main reasons we upgraded to a larger boat was so that we wouldn't have to worry about where we were gonna pee at 5am! Now, we're worrying about where we're gonna pee at 5am!!

Is the transition from manual pump flush to a Vaccuflush easy?

If you get a new vacuflush toilet, try and get one of the bigger/extended bowl models. I did that when they built my 480 and it is much better for a guy to sit on than the one that was in my 380. The standard vacuflush toilet was designed for an 11-year old girl... with no equipment.

I'll look into that! Do they come in patterns, or just plain white porcelain?

That's the one we have. I went around the show room and gave each model the sit test when we replaced ours last year and you are 100% correct

I saw an old SR that was highly customized by it's owner. There was a hole thru the port side of the cockpit. I asked what it was for and the guy said "that's where the funnel goes". A modification like that could solve half your problem and save on pumpouts too.:smt043
