Restore or scrap and buy a better one?

In Michigan you typically don't have to have a title for a trailer, just a registration.
I feel like I remember that now. My 14' fishing boat trailer, doesn't have a serial number, so they had to assign it one, that I still need to inscribe...

Congrats on the Silverline. Since you and your wife appear to be rockstars financially I'd suggest you squirrel away a few thousand between now and spring. If there's two things the folks here on CSR can tell you it's that 1.) all boats are projects and 2.) buying the boat is the cheapest part :)
Thanks, we are slowly getting there! We could have bought a larger boat, but this seems like a good starter. Plus, when you have an emergency fund, bad things don't seem to happen as often... haha So we have $2k saved up in case we need another 115hp motor, worse case scenario. But probably wouldn't hurt to add to it, to be able to get a new year one. And I really want a wake tower with a bimini cover! We also have a '95 Jeep Wrangler (Just Empty Every Pocket), we are used to maintenance/repairs..... hahahaha But sure is a blast at Silver Lake!!!

So maybe this is a dumb question, but don't most boats have that hole in the floor, where you can pull up a wooden grate? Circled in red. If so, how would water even make its way down to the bilge pump?

Yes, most sport boats have a ski locker in that area. Most boats made after 2000 have a molded hatch in that area.
