Just curious, is there a website that has information on restaurants that have marinas? Or if not, perhaps each section in the Regional Forums, we can create a sticky for such information. hopefully I am not the only one that wants this information. Thanks!

Try active captain, Navionics and/or Garmin home port. Garmin home port needs a vision card, but the first two are free downloads. They will have a lot of into around marinas/ restaurants etc..

I use ActiveCaptain integration with Home Port and BlueChart Mobile. The trouble is that the target demographic for ActiveCaptain is long-term cruisers and live-aboards. Recreational boaters are secondary, which is why AC has menu options to add the location of a local Walmart, marine parts store or an airport, but not a restaurant with dockage.

I learned this insight in an email conversation with Karen & Jeff, the owners/creators of AC. I had added a restaurant to their database and they deleted it. When I explained that it could be considered a marina because it had dockage, they allowed it to stay. I asked them to reconsider the restaurant option, but that was several years ago, so the apparently their priorities have remained static. Who am I to judge - they've created an invaluable boating resource, while I just want to use it for free....

Have you tried "yelp"?

As RollerCoastr said, by using AC you first need to find marinas in the area and then go to each one (use Services tab) and see if they have a restaurant onsite or near by.

well I can give you a few.... Jt's on the bay in blue point (corey creek) Harbor crab in Patchogue river, The Oar in Patchogue river,
"View" in Oakdale, Molly Malone's bayshore.... Kingstons in W. Sayville.........its not every one but its a start.
This is a topic I have looked for and never found a thread for.. I would like It if we could get It to be its own thread by area.

Fire Island - Surf's out in Kismet. Spend the day at Sore thumb (Fire Island inlet) and grab dinner at Surf's out. You can stay the night.

Another couple- nicks on the bay in bayshore, snapper inn in oakdale.

what about nice resturants?
I been to Big fish in Bayshore? think thas the name

went to frank and dicks a dew times with kids for ice cream and lunch so sad they never re opened

Try the Island Mermaid in Ocean bay park fire island. They have a few slips you can call ahead. Food is very good.

For the south shore of Nassau County, we have the Nautical Mile in Freeport with a few restaurants to choose from. Also have Fisherman’s Catch in Pt. Lookout (great food but only room for 1 or 2 boats, 3 if they are all small). Reel in East Rockaway (good food, but a long ride to it). Pop’s Seafood in Island Park (large dock for quite a few boats, food is ok)

further east we have trumpets on the bay, dockers (hard to get to narrow channel and low tide is a no go) and my favorite is oaklands on the east cut of shinnecock inlet with great fish lunch specials plenty of docking, fuel next door and indoor/outdoor dinning.

I want to try Snapper Inn this year. What kind of bands and what time of year do they start playing?

I go to "view" a lot it's really nice. I have anchored in river right by snapper but never went, heard good things.

Boating Times Long Island has a nice list and even an app that lists restaurants with docks and includes navigation details to get there.

Thanks for the heads up. Will stop by the office at the Anchorage to pick up a free copy.
