I did a quick search, and found only one instance of someone having a previous boat's trailer painted with this stuff.

Are there any cons? The pros are obvious: non-slip, very durable, protects the metal.

We have a painted tandem trailer and boat exclusively in fresh water lakes. But, even after just a few years, our trailer is getting some rust spots that I'm going to have to deal with after the season.

The con for this application is that I seriously doubt that it would protect the metal. You would have to take the trouble to perfectly apply any type of truck bedliner to every square inch of the trailer. If you don't, the end result is that you will get the exact opposite effect that you are trying to achieve. In any spot where the application is not perfectly applied, the bedliner can and will trap moisture forever against the metal. At least without the liner the water will soon evaporate off.

GJ,
You're not going to warn him to go pee before he starts and wear latex gloves?

Guerk, I agree. I'm not sure if your trailer has some rust coming through your existing paint or not, but it may be a question to ask a good powder coater or the Rhino liner shop. You certainly don't want to expedite the corrosion process.
