Rudder Indicator Not Reading

My rudder indicator started acting up on a cruise yesterday. At first the gauge was reading a hard to port indication which wasn't true, I was going straight. Now it is reading straight regardless what I do with the wheel. The sensor below looks good, nice and tight. Is there a way of checking if the sensor is bad or the gauge? Thank you

Bob, my experience, its always always the sensor, always. Same as an outdrive trim gauge. Trust me on this.

If you are Raymarine...

Probably similar if other Mfg.

Of course it could also be a loose wire, bad connection etc...

Great, thank you and I will take a harder look at the sensor. It is Sea Ray factory so not sure if it is a Raymarine or not.

Probably same manufacturer as the original electronics installed at the factory.
