Running with full enclosures

Although not recommended, most folks do. Crack open a window (Hatch or side scoop window) to "pressurize" the enclosure. The will make it difficult to suck in Carbon Monoxide. It's also recommended that you buy and install a MARINE CO detector that will go off when levels get to high. This way you can watch the levels when you start out to make sure they aren't climbing.

when it's cold I do. crack some windows open. Haven't died yet, although i'm sure some wish I would.

I'll second that recommendation for a CO detector. Installing one gave my wife confidance that made it well worth it, just on that level.

If you buy one, be sure to step up for a marine rated one, and not a Home Depot unit. The Fireboy / Zintex unit I have time averages the CO levels to avoid nuisance alarms. My buddy bought the latter, and his goes off about thirty seconds after starting his generator. It's a real pain.

You got to be careful. It really doesn't take long for CO to get you buzzed or worse. I've read that CO has even killed people while "teak surfing".

The best way to stay out of the cold weather is to install a drop curtain--great visibility and solar heating.

I slightly crack the vent open in the windshield to give some air circulation in the cockpit in addition to opening the side curtains.

I have full curtains on my 260DA, and found the alarm going off when running it. To solve it I make sure the cabin door to below is closed when moving, crack the deck hatch window slightly to allow air to flow down below, crack the front middle plastic above, and use the engine blower when not at cruising speed. Have not had a problem since!
