Safe Harbor Marinas

I guess I am odd man out here, but I like my Marina. Their fuel prices are lower then across the channel and still give the .40 cents off. They have Gazebos with BBQ's at the end of every dock, huge pool and Tiki bar. Safe Harbor Narrows Point, I believe they call it this year. They have changed the name three times in as many years. The cool thing is the Black Card, they give you 12 nights at any SH marina and there are many here on the Chesapeake. Their slips are competitive for what they offer and across the bay they get twice as much, so I can't complain.

We have the dumb ass captains lounge, completely useless for me. They do have a pretty nice gym which gets used in the winter.

“Don’t rock the boat” really applies here.... we are two years in now under SH ownership. The only price increase we have seen is heated storage went up $0.05/sqft this year. Still almost $1.50/sqft cheaper then some other places around. They have invested in floating docks in a few places..... so not any real issues with them
Blueone we both dodged the maintenance cost of docking at Lakefront Marina Port Clinton Ohio. My friends that are docked there their ac units are clogging solid with sediment coming off the lake. I had to replace my sea water pumps when there they were totally shot due to the sand and sediment flowing into the marina. I was also told the entrance had to be dredged twice last year so boats could get in and out. Sorry to say it is not a marina worth the money they are charging. The marina i a at now the ac unit runs fine all summer never have to clean the water strainer. Once a month at Lakefront Marina it would be clocked solid with Zebra mussels and sediment. One has to wonder what all that sediment is doing to the motors on the boats at Lakefront?

They are dredging again now. I never heard Lad, Fred or Chris mention a problem with AC… I was never there ..we always left when we got there…. I do miss the carp running into the hull though :)

the year before is when I lost my happy attitude over dredging and hired brands to take the boat to their shop and launch. Never returned to LF

Oh my God, the Carp!!! Those little SOBs would ruin an evening. We tried everything from bright lights, to cayenne pepper, and making sure bottom has clean with no fuzz, but didn't help.

I woke up one evening sleeping on the boat and I literally thought we were sinking. It was the damn carp!

First time it happened to me was 3am and I thought a pump or something was cycling on and off. I was walking around the cockpit in my underwear trying to find the problem. Finally realized it was from outside the boat.

Really have always thought it was more that lake specific.
