I'm looking to upgrade, and have my eyes on the SDX 250 Outboard. I'm quite taken with the unique layout and convertible back bench. Any current owners care to share their experiences with this model good or bad? As I'll be using it in coastal waters, I'm also interested in any experiences with this in that environment.

I have a 2021 I/O 250 SDX.
The layout - especially the bow and under helm storage - work well for my family. Great storage elsewhere as well. Though the I\O back does not slide as the outboards does, the ability to rotate the seat back easily when underway to maximize cockpit seating is very useful.
We also have the tower with canopy - very worthwhile. Order inserts for tower - it’ll look better.
Our boating is freshwater Niagara River and Lake Erie. In these waters boat is very stable. Would not take it out in rough water.
They are relatively rare in my waters - everyone that’s seen it without fail has liked the layout.
There’s also a FB SDX group that may help.
