Sea ray 440 express bridge thoughts

To ship it you would have to take the bridge off and probably a second truck to take the bridge itself. People have done it and it's not a quick or cheap endeavor. I would think bringing it up from the gulf or down from the great lakes would be a cheaper option but that also depends if you can captain it yourself or pay someone to deliver it.
The experience of sailing your new boat home trumps transporting it. What better way to introduce yourself to your new boat? Comparing costs obviously comes down to distance, but with fuel costs where they are, I would think more economical to sail her home. Depending on what waterway you transverse, you may also get to see how she handles in rough water. Invaluable experience with a new to you boat. IMO
