anyone know whether the 2003 onwards 340 uses 3/8th or 5/16th chain? I want to replace all my rode with chain.

There's no way it's 3/8". It would more be a dilemma between 1/4" and 5/16". From memory (you can check your parts manual) I'm pretty sure it's 5/16". BUT... you really need to check the windlass (actually the gypsy) as either could have been replaced over the years. Otherwise, you're taking a bit of a chance by ordering without verifying. also double check the "type" of link by looking at the existing links for ID or the gypsy. "Probably" 5/16" HT/G4 - but you really need to double check.

You need to call Imtra in Mass. they will tell you what type of chain i not shure if it is metric there price on replacment rope and chain 10 years ago was $650.00

My 310 is 5/16 so I’d guess your 340 is at least that...
