Hey guys, can you please help me to recognize this component on the picture? It is located under the galley stairs where the vacuum is. Unfortunately was melted. Thank you.
I can’t recognize it. It vaguely looks like it could have been a fluxgate compass for an autopilot, but I wouldn’t think any responsible installer would locate it near or adjacent to the vacuum unit.
Maybe the bigger question is do you have any idea how whatever it is got hot enough to melt it that badly?

I think you are right, I checked a few pictures and this one looks similar. That small room with a vacuum is the lowest place on the boat, maybe that's why is right there.
The reason why was it melted is because I had a short on the eplex module which was next to it.
