Septmeber 11th and the Flag

We fly ours 24/7 all year long. It needs relacement every 6 months, but we never tire of watching it fly.

We also fly ours year round. Although, I did change it out for a new one yesterday.

My flag is up everyday except for REALLY bad storms. Go through about a flag every 4-6 months. I'm NOT flying it half mast today....I'm flying it HIGH and PROUD!!!!!!

The cheapist source for flags is through your member of Congress. We buy the casket size (5x8?) and I believe they cost around $29 for the nylon fabric which is the longest lasting. We order them two at a time. Our flag looks really good now but will start to go down hill with the gales of November. I'll replace it at the end of April and drop it off at the local American Legion hall. They collect old flags and burn them when they get enough for proper disposal.

I buy mine at Walmart....4 X 6 nylon with embroided stars.....$27.46. I drop them off at the local VFW, where my father was a proud member, for proper disposal.

our flag flies everyday also, usually by it's self but on sept 11. we fly our sept 11 th flag just below it , this is a very sad day in our house and in our family.

Our flag went up on 9/12/2001 and has not come down since, other than for replacement.

24/7/365 and properly lit as well. In fact I had a neighbor who severed in WWII stop me at my mailbox and thank me for flying it and more importantly keeping Old Glory lit in the evenings.... I shook his hand and impishly replied that it is the least i could do; than thanked him again!
