I’m trying to find serpinetine belts for my two Merc 5.0 engines that are 260hp. I would like to get an automotive serpentine belt from Napa, Autozone or one of the other parts stores. Does anyone have a part number for these belts on my engines.

Thanks in advance for your help

Ralph

I 2nd taking the belt into an autoparts store. They will have a belt gauge to measure the length and width. Also they will have a cross-reference chart in most cases/ IMO....not all serp belts are of equal qualtiy. I prefer Gates or Napa branded belts. Maybe take a pic of the belt still on the engine prior to removal so you get the routing correct.

I took mine into the store, and they sized it up. I bought Gates as well. NAPA's are made by Gates, but with a lot more $$ attached to them.

Last fall I took two belts to AutoZone. They could not match them. Napa did find a match. They were not exact but close enough when I tightened them up. Off maybe a quarter of an inch.

Not sure what year yours are but my 98 5.7’s could not be matched to anything and my only two options were to buy new old stock of the original length or change out the damn power steering pulley with the belt. Merc released a bulletin a while back for that motor which changed the pulley.

Can't help you with a part number, but I would bet if you take an old belt into an auto parts store, they would be able to match it up for you.
Im trying that at NAPA. Four

I'm on my fourth trip to NAPA. Brought the belt and measurements I got by measuring the belt. I thought somebody might have gone through this process before.

Look for a 106 1/2” continental belt. It’s a perfect fit on my 2007 350 MAG with a Bravo 3. I tried Gates belts but the 2 closest sizes were either too big or too small.

Continental OE Technology Series 4061065 6-Rib, 106.5" Multi-V Belt
