Hi all
Im looking at on 09 350 sundancer to purchase. I believe this was changed to the 370 in 2010. 8.1s. v drives and 12 foot beam. The boat is very clean. The records show that the port motor was mis aligned to the tranny and sheared off the bolts. This occurred in 2013. The tranny was realigned and all work was performed by a reputable marina. Trying to determine what could have caused this. Im guessing maybe shifting hard from fwd to reverse with motor still at high revs? is this possible with the Digital Shift tranny? Is this something that should be a deal killer? Boat has been running fine, had some water in bilge as a result of this, assuming maybe the seals were spraying water due to the mis alignment?...some rust on tranny mounts, but nothing that looks to terrible. Any thoughts appreciated...thx

you say tranny, so i would assume vdrive....if that is the case, it would be the shaft allignment we're talking about....not sure a missalignment alone would cause the bolts to shear, but as long as the fix was done properly and documented I wouldnt worry about it

thank u and yes V drives...if there were some salt water in the bilge for a short period of time, should i be concerned about degradation to oil pans etc? that one is hard to check...

I would be more concened with how high the water was, or if it was slung or sprayed around the engine compartment....are we talking salt water? electrical components and connections are the biggest thing to worry about...
