One 496 mag
Good morning, I'm having shifting issues on my 2002, 280 sea ray sundancer, it has a 496 mag with a Bravo III drive. I took it to the Marina and they changed all shift cables including the lower cable and shift mechanism. I took the boat out and had no reverse after a few docking attempts. Took it to a different Marina and they stated the lower shift cable was stretched. They are looking into other issue inside drive. Curious on what else it could be????

Any reason why you didn’t/couldn’t bring it back to the original marina that did the work?

Does your helm shifter physical move to the reverse position?

Can you see the shift mechanism on the motor moving when the helm shifter is moved to the reverse position?

A couple reasons, their not use to working on big boats, said they have to work on it outside because ther tractor cant move it, they also thought it was a pontoon when I told them what issues I was having and gave them a description. The marina it's at know is off of lake Michigan and they are certified to work on it. Plus initial marina said they will reimburse us for a new shift cable.

Sorry I missed your other questions. Yes everything moves freely, except whatever is inside outdrive. I didnt think there was to much to them inside other than the cone clutch
