My boat came with none of this. It is a 1973 SRV 240. I plan on running an inverter to run tv and such. Now when docked plan on runing a battery charger to maintain batteries and run tv and such. Not Running Air Conditioning.
My question is do I need a special cord to run from the boat to the dock power. I have an RV that uses the 3 prong plug that I hook to the campsite. What type of outlet is typically used. Most Camp sites use the triditional "Wall Outlet" and the big 3 prong. What is there at the docks and do you need a special cord?

You will need a 30A cord. Like This.

The female end should look like this.

The Male end should look like this.

The entire cord with plugs is anywhere from $45 to ove $100, depending on the length you need, and where you buy it .

You're adding a shorepower system where there isn't one.
Since you mentioned an inverter and a battery charger, you should look at the combo units, like those from Xantrex.
You need a power inlet and shorepower panel, be sure you know what you're doing. Improperly wired/grounded AC can kill...

My post above assumed that you already had shore power already installed on your boat. I would not add the power inlet and shore power panel to a boat of your size and type. Instead just get an adaptor and run a conventional extention cord to you boat for AC power.

Or just make one from parts you can pick up at Home Depot. That is what we did for running AC fry pans, toaster and stuff at our picnic table near the dock.
