Got to boat today and noticed outdrive wouldn't trim. No fluid in reservoir. Find leak in the manifold that attaches under the gimbal housing. Got all the hoses off except for the 2 that come from the pump. Didn't have flare wrenches with me. May try tomorrow. Other problem is trim sender attaches to the bottom of this manifold and the wires go thru the manifold and into the engine compartment. I can't find exactly where they come in. The harness seems to have all the same two colors red and black.
I didn't look that hard cause the engine was a little warm.

Anybody know where exactly these wires come in and is there a disconnect.

Damn manifold is $75.

Sorry... It is not the trim sender as previously thought, it is the Mercathode. How does this go through the transom assembly. I have not found any pics or descriptions about how this is done. I'm guessing now that the outdrive has to come off.

The mercathode wires go through the bottom if the transom along with the trim hoses. Disconnect the wires from the mercathode controller (should be brown and orange) tie them to another piece of long wire, pull the fish wire through with the electrode wires, remove the fish wire, change the manifold. Tie the electrode wires back to the fish wire and pull them back through again.

Or you can do it the mercury way and just pull the wires out, then use a fish wire to pull them back through the transom.

KP thanks for that info. At this point I may just have a mechanic do it. New job pressures don't allow me the time to do it myself which goes against my whole being. I always do everything myself unless I've done it enough to know I don't want to do it. (Drywall).LOL.

Love your hood ornament.

I've done it myself and its not that bad really, depends on how much room you have to work with of course and its definitely something I wouldnt want to fool with in the heat.
