We have two boats, both '01s... We boat a 340 DA this year, and we have owned a 190 Sundeck since '03... We like the Sundeck, it is a lot of fun, but I have only put about 85 hours on it since '03. We only use it the few times each year when we water ski or tube... We live on the water so there is no dock fees... I have a trailer so my total yearly out of the pocket expenses, minus maintenance is around $200. (Last year I had to put in $2,400 in maintenance, and this year it was $800 for canvas). My question is should I sell the boat or keep it? What do you guys think?

I kept our 21' bowrider and we use it about as often as you use yours. We almost sold it this year but decided to keep it. It's great to have and it doesn't cost much to keep it.

It has become our taxi at larger raft-ups. I would vote to keep it.

I had two boats for 4yrs. I thought I might want to take the 200Select out occasionaly. I never used it except once each summer for about an hr to make sure everything was working. I still insured, washed, waxed and maintained. Although the cost and effort on my part wasn't that much it was still a waste. I should have sold it right away. Thats how it was for me.

We had the 370 before we bought the 210 bowrider. I thought about selling it a couple times, but we do use it, about 50 to 60 hrs a year, it's a fun boat. Besides that, it neat to go out in the garage in the winter time and get my boat fix.............the boat is in pristine condition because I take care of it and it is garaged kept............Oh, it is the wifey's boat, so I guess we are keeping it.........my vote is to keep it.

and that's why we still own a 240SD... She really does enjoy being able to get out and go in it. (well ok.. I enjoy the change of pace too  ) It's great for when we want to run the 10 miles to the far end of the lake. It's also great for when the kids and grandkids come over and want to play.

If the boat is paid for it makes little sense to sell it. You are still in the honeymoon period of the 340 and you're enjoying all the aspects of the larger boat that you hadn't had for a while. There will come a point after a while that you will grow weary of "feeding" it and you'll start missing the good old days of hopping in and just GOING. Hang on to the little boat for a year or two longer. I seriously doubt you'll have any regrets.
