I'm not understanding why that would be deemed worthy advice. I've never competed with any firearms but a long time ago I did in archery. I could shoot a perfect score in points but the X ring count inside the bull was the tie breaker if needed. I could never shoot a 300 with 60 X's, always 57-58 or 59. I'd be surprised your friend would throw a shot on purpose more than likely he really just folded under the pressure like I used to do.A word of advice I was given early on in my career...you never want to score a perfect score. I'm pretty accurate but don't think I could ever get a perfect score without some luck but there was a guy in one of my classes that had a perfect score going then threw his last shot off the paper on purpose.
Kinda like bowling. I could never get 300 but one time I lucked out and got 265. Normally I’m at 170 average.I'm not understanding why that would be deemed worthy advice. I've got a 4506, I never liked it. Should have got rid of it 25 years ago.I was a reserve officer for several years in the late 80’s and early 90’s, my carry weapon was a smith and Wesson 686 357 revolver. Qualifying using speed loaders was a pain in the ass. I switched to a S&W 40-06 after a year or so. Still have my 686 tho
The way I was taught if your shooting with a 22 always heart or head. If you don't the little stuff can crawl away, hide on you...some of the big stuff can get pissed.I thinking head or crotch shot. Sorry I didn't realize thieves had started wearing armor.
If thats the case u best get out a AR15 5.56 cal.
Legal reasons. This was a law enforcement qualification. You get a perfect score then you ever have to shoot someone a good attorney may bring up the fact that you are a perfect shot and could have ended the threat without killing the guy. This came from PA police firearms instructors.I'm not understanding why that would be deemed worthy advice. I've never competed with any firearms but a long time ago I did in archery. Not many do have that problem... I've been through 100s, if not thousands of training and qualifications shoots for rifle and pistol as a Marine as well as a State and Federal LEO. Perfect scores are extremely few and far between. If perfect scores are happening, the training or qual needs to be looked at.It’s the exact same advice my instructor gave this past Sunday.
He threw the last shot on his test purposely. The reasons he gave were purely liability/legal arguments that will be made against you in court if you terminate someone. They’ll make the case it was not self defense. That your expertise was offensive in nature.
I don’t have that problem.

Funny you say that, I really was not fond of the 4006. I still have it, but it stays in the gun safe. That thing unloaded is about the same weight as my XD fully loadedI've got a 4506, I never liked it. Should have got rid of it 25 years ago.

I understood RBB. I guess if I thought that's what I was up against I'd use my 30-06 deer rifle or 12ga w/slugs, that's the hardest hitting stuff I got. Don't know if that would be good enough, I don't know anything about body armor.I was referencing @blaster wearing Armor comment sir.
I see Alec Baldwin is claiming that he 'never pulled the trigger' when he shot that young woman.
About 20 years ago me and my brother-in-law were at the range shooting our rifles. Mine a 270 and his a 300 Rem Mag. So for some reason they had a led ball chained to a rail at the 100 yard mark and it was part of the range. So we took turns at shooting the ball and I'm watching him shoot through my scope. So I can see the nut and bolt that go through the chain holding it up. So I jokingly said to him, 'watch this'. Can't say for sure that I hit the bolt but if not I hit the chain as the led ball fell to the ground. We looked at each other and both of our jaws were about on the ground...lol.
