I replaced the shower sump box 2 months ago with this
Johnson 12V 1000 GPH Multi Port Shower Pump with Switch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001VJ9QM...abc_PZGTM3YC4S5DZ6CT44DB?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Has the electronic switch, which is basically 2 contacts, when they get wet, it pumps and when the water is below it stops. With the air conditioning running, it seems to run every 5-10 mins. It’s very little water coming out fo the thru-hull. Works good for showering, pumps out fast…. I didn’t notice this cycling Until this weekend. I didn’t notice water coming back through the check valve, but not positive…

Wondering if I should go to a mechanical switch. which would give it a little more change in elevation to trigger the switch….
Thanks in advance for insight or experience that you have had

Do you have room under the cover to simply raise the Ultima switch higher?

I think so. As I read some of the other types of electronic switches, they say allows 2” of water and pumps down to 1/2” or 3/4”….. none of the descriptions for the Ultima have that, so I am thinking, replace it and I should settle it down a little….

One note I’d consider is the smaller the tank or box the less volume she will hold, hence she will cycle more often. The box on our boat is approximately 2’x1’ with a lower level where the pump is while the switch is on the upper level maybe 1 1/2” higher. When multiple drains are being used in conjunction with the AC’s the quicker she cycles. With ac’s only running she short cycles considerably less. Condensate nowhere the amour of water from showers or sinks!

We’ve also mounted an access door much like you see in a fiberglass floor that swings open to relatively easily gain quick East access rather than removing six SS wing nuts & bolts!

Come to think of it, raising the Ultima likely won't solve the quick cycling issue - the cycling time will stay the same, it'll just leave more water in the box when it turns off. Unless this switch runs for a bit after the level drops below the sensor, then it should work.

I am thinking either the delay off failed or it isn’t a feature of this model switch, the more i think about it, i bet mine came with the BE9001 (no delay)

I ordered a whale BE9003
