I called the marina yesterday to get the boat ready to spash in two weeks and was told the mechanic made a few notes on repair issues wihile winterizing the boat last winter. Seems the slave solenoid needs replacing and a new bilge pump and blower.

Anyone have experience replacing a slave solenoid regarding time, cost, etc? Also looking for a suggestion on a "quiet" bilge pump blower.

Thanks in advance for your help.

What solenoid do they refer to? Fuel or Tilt/Trim Pump Unit or Trim Tab Unit
Just curious, did all of this work prior to winterizing?

Do they suggest replacing the bilge blower or the bilge pump? If you are a DIY, those two should be easy to replace on your boat...

The slave solenoid is in the starting circuit and has nothing to do with trim, tabs, etc. It is a $16 part from Mercruiser and they do fail with some regularity. I can change one in about 10 minutes......if I don't drop the stupid little nuts.

The Attwood inline blower is probably the quietest one around...a $30 part and another 10 minutes.

Thanks Frank - I didn't want to send him down the wrong path...I hadn't thought about the starting circuit. Then again I'd never heard of a bilge pump blower either...
