Smart Craft Tach Died

We were taking on fuel when I started hearing "pops" in one of my speakers. I didn't think much of it, but it's never happened before. I went to change the smart craft display to the fuel level screen and it was frozen. After a couple of seconds the display went away and all of the gages that feed from smart craft died. This is the fourth smart craft display I have had since we got the boat. I am starting to wonder if there is an intermitent short somewhere that is killing the displays and maybe the speaker pops are a clue...ideas?
