VDC is likely a voltage fault of one sort or another.

You say you "plugged in the smartcraft computer".............what do you mean by that? Do you have a scanner or was that message on your smartcraft guages?

its a mercuiser scanner that give me that fault code i have checked all wiring looms on the 12v side all look ok but for it to stop must have a prob
cheers

Robbie,

Were you using a lanyard with a kill switch (on the base of the throttle)? I had my engine completely die on me one day. After fussing with it for 5 minutes I found out that the lanyard had come out part way and tripped the switch. I believe (but am not 100% certain) that the kill switch cuts all power to the engine...

Perhaps an intermittant loose connection. You might try (with engine off, of course) unplugging then engine computer harness and replugging in case you have a loose pin or corrosion.

I too had the kill switch lanyard pulled once, by kids in the boat when we were stopped, they had barely pulled it (lanyard still attached) and it took me a while to realize what had happened. In ours with the kill switch off, no ignition, no fuel pump, and no instrument gauge lights. Not sure that would cause the warning buzzer to go off though.

Keep us posted.

hi guys had good look today over all the looms what i have found is that 50 amp breaker on engine looks little bit melted on the terminals
what could cause that but it has not triped
cheers

Corrosion and/or loose connections on the terminals would be the most obvious cause. As they say, "if you hear hoofbeats think horses not zebras".

Best of luck on getting to the bottom of the problem.:smt001

I have seen postings by a couple of guys on this board that appear to be Sea Ray or Merc techs. Maybe they can enlighten you on what to look for. Hopefully they will reply to this posting.
