Hi everyone,
I had the dreaded bad screen on my dieselview --- no problem got that fix / swapped to new reman unit. Now the fuel amounts and other parameters are incorrect. Was I supposed to leave the old one in and copy all the settings before disconnecting it and reconnecting the new one? Thoughts?

I don't think the original DV's don't have a capability to record configuration on say, a card. But, the parameters are pretty simple. Mostly just the fuel capacity and making sure the sensors are recognized. I still have a soft copy of the manual detailing the configuration process. PM me if you need it and I can shoot you a copy.

I broke out the manual and believe it screams "Calibration" mode. Sound about right? I think what I read was that in calibration mode, the fuel sensors should approximate fuel and such.

I think you're on the right track. It would have been useful to have the figures on tank levels from before but you ought to get pretty close if you know the existing amount in the tanks. I think this is about all you need to do unless your new unit didn't pick up all your sensors.

I haven't tried the "calibration" method yet. I just replaced the system, plugged it in and expected it to work. Of course, now I know better that I need to calibrate it. When I'm down the boat next time, I"ll see about the calibration mode. Hopefully it will pick up the fuel sensors. I topped off the fuel prior to winter.... as I do every year :)
