So I looked at a boat the other day. What do you think of this?

I'm not new to these boats and the last one I bought was a 100% project but a part of me is itching for another 31 Bertram. Checked this one out and never saw anything like this. Claims it's because the marina didn't pull the boat in December and just got pulled in February.

I'm not sure if there is a power washer strong enough to take care of this growth.

That gonna be like concrete. Where was the yard when it was wet and fresh? Realizing it’s not yours. That looks pulled in September and not washed at all!

Dunk it for 72 hours then pull it and blast away. At least it isn’t all barnacles.

It's located in Cape May and there is no way I'm doing a restoration like my previous 31. Aside from not having the time or money to do something like that again, I found that post restoration it was way too nice to enjoy.

I'm looking to pick up a 31 with diesels on the cheap and will probably need to replace the decking at the most. I miss the days of endless cruising at 25knts burning 14gph. It would be a fun boat to toy around with and learn how to fish for stripers at the bay bridge and maybe even schedule a few off shore trips from Lewes, DE.

I recognize 100% this is a terrible idea and hopefully this foolish urge passes soon.

That's nothing - there are boats in our marina that haven't moved in the 12 years I've been there. And, we are in a barnacle and tube worm Chicago crime scene. The marina impounded one several months ago and hauled it out to be crushed - It was a solid clump of marine growth like I've never seen before, thousands of pounds, a reef Australia would have been proud of; IO's BTW.....

That was a long time ago but the best boat ever! Bought a 1974 31 Bertram with 454's and actually fished it as is for 2 seasons and had a blast. Best decision ever was to repower with reman Cummins 6BTA 300hp. Boat would cruise at 26knts effortlessly. Leave at 3 am, run 60 miles to the canyons, troll all day and then head home and take about 125 gallons. Ironically my biggest regret was the total restoration because the boat was so nice all I ever wanted to do was joyride and wash it.

That boat turned heads everywhere we went and people were always asking a million questions. Kind of like having a totally redone car, etc.

I'll look for the pre pictures and some of the redone interior. I have to say it turned out really well!

While I liked the the Bertram 31, this was always my favorite . Silverton 31. The 34 was more available but the 31 was a pocket cruiser. Definition of pretty.
