So sad.....

What a tragedy. I hope that they catch the person that did it. I'm sure drugs and/or alcohol were involved and they probably don't want to be caught but how could you possibly leave the scene of an accident like this one? Several years ago we were almost hit by a small speed boat one evening when cruising home after dinner on Lake Washington. Luckily we were cruising slowly and saw the other boat on our radar and stopped/reversed in time. Had we been going any faster or not using our instruments they would have hit our hull on the starboard side/bow which was right where our son was sleeping in the v-berth. The other boat was traveling at a high rate of speed with no navigation lights whatsoever. They came within 10 feet of hitting us and came out of nowhere. It was truly terrifying. We called 911 and attempted to report them but it was dark and they disappeared under the 520 bridge before we could get their registration number.

Such a tragedy that they man was overcoming medical issues only to be murdered by some a-hole with a boat.

My dad was at Kessler in Chester late last year, following cancer-related neurosurgery. Unfortunately the cancer was very aggressive and he passed in April. I know I'd be devastated if he had been able to recover and go boating again only to killed in a boating crash.

How can they not find the killer? With all of the cameras these days I would think any ramp would be able to identify them. If it is at a marina, same thing. Sad and bizarre.

I believe he was at Kessler recovering from the boat crash.

There are very few cameras at ramps on our lake, whether public use or marina-controlled. I don't know about Greenwood lake, but in other parts of our area, if a boater has a private slip/launch or uses a public ramp when there's no one else around, there's no one to notice damage and make a connection to news reports after the fact, either.

Very sad all around.

There are no cameras at the closest marina that I'm aware of, and the crash occurred at 8:30 PM, so it was dark out.
