I sold our beloved 268 this morning...I hate to see it go, but we needed more room.

Having the freedom to buy a bigger tub, I went out looking this aft at a bunch that I had been keeping an eye on via the 'net. Didn't buy any of them. They all were either overpriced, under-equipped, or just plain crappy.

Then I ran across EXACTLY what I was looking for. I found a great boat, well, equipped, updated, in great shape, and more importantly, a motivated seller!

After a thorough visual inspection, we hammered out a deal, contingent of course on survey, and sea trial in the spring. I think I made out like a bandit, but let me know what you all think.

I bought a 1985 Cruisers Inc (I know, I know...) 336 Ultra Vee.

33' long, 12' beam, twin 454 Crusaders with straight drives. 1 yr old Onan 6.5k Genset, 1 yr old AC/Heat unit, windlass, 700 hours on engines. It needs a GPS/Chartplotter/Radar, but it has a newer depth/fish finder in it.

Canvas was new last year, as was carpet. New Faria gauges last year as well.

Purchase price of $25k CDN.

Whaddya think?

Those gauges look fantastic! Really updates the helm.

Is that what I think it is just left of the shift handles?

Self-destruct button maybe? :wow:

Didn't pull/push on it...Cigarette Lighter I would imagine...otherwise now known as a power port for my BlackBerry....

Thx Todd,

Yea, there is, pretty much the same set up as this and BOC.

I just sent my registration in, but from what I have read so far, it takes some time before the admin gets to it.

Oh well, I have a couple/few months to look at it anyway before it gets splashed.

My dockmate has the exact same boat - even same color - it's a beautiful boat - especially the wood in the interior. His has 1200 hours and runs great. He paid just a little more than you did.

I had a 1989 3260. Great boat!!! The only reason I got rid of it was it had V-drives and there was NO WAY my fat-a55 could not get down there do do any work at all.... Lol! Those boats have one of the best lay-outs anywhere.

Tonka - I do have some interior pics. I think the previous owners wife decorated specifically so there was NO way he was picking up chicks at PIB...

You can see the HVAC vents underneath the V bunk in one pic there. Other than the decorating, I love the layout. We boat with two kids, and this gives us the room to bunk them both seperately if we need to.

Redhook:

Yea, I do like the straight drives that this one has, when you pull all 3 engine hatches there is a LOT of room to work down there, even with the Genset.

Now for the hard part...waiting for spring...

NAH!!! That interior is definetely a "chick magnet"!
Animal Prints and Flowers!
What more could a woman want in decorating?
Congrats!

I think this could be featured on the show, "What Not To Wear".

Seriously ... Nice boat and good luck with her.

Nice boat! I was curious how you worked out the spring splash and survey issue with the seller? Did you give him a deposit to hold it until you can confirm everythings ok with the sea trial? Or pay for it with something in writing he has to buy it back in spring if there is an issue?

Just curious and probably a newbie question I apologize. I am selling mine currently and am moving up and had a few people ask me this and I did not know what to say??

Scott,

That is exactly what we did. I gave him a deposit of 20% of the purchase price, with the understanding (in writing of course) that if there was something I didn't like about the boat after sea trial that I could walk away and get my deposit back, less actual costs for splashing the boat.

Survey will be done as well, with the same conditions.

I am confident that everything will go well, after seeing the amount of $$ the owner dropped into this thing to get it the way he wanted it. It's nice to have that "out clause" though in case something does go sideways.

Thanks Wayne!

I need to add a radar/GPS/Chartplotter combo to this thing...anyone have any recommendations?
