Something petroleum based coming out of exhaust

Today after i started the engines I was watching the water flow coming out of exhaust.
The starboard exhaust water has something petroleum based coming out leaving a floating sheen on the water.
Motor is a 5.7 MPI Horizon with 317 Hours. I'm thinking unburned fuel. Motor Runs fine no miss and not using oil.
Any thoughts???

After searching the web came up with possible oil or trans cooler leaking into raw water system.
Is there an oil cooler on these engines i don't see one on my motors.

I agree it's an oil cooler or trans cooler, and I am sure you have an oil cooler and would put money on it that it is what you have leaking. On my engine it is mounted vertically on the front of the motor behind the surpintine belt.

Thanks for quick reply.
I'll check for it. I checked parts diagram fro my serial number shows no oil cooler.
I still suspect the trans cooler is the culprit I'm going to replace both of them.

IF you have power steering you will have a cooler for the PS fluid. One of your raw water intakes goes through the bottom of the boat, through the strainer, raw water pump, through the cooler and then to the motor. It will be a metal tube 7-9" long with water lines going in and out and smaller hydraulic lines coming out the side. There are usually bolted to the side of the block down low.

There is one in the lower right corner of this pic. Not the big heat exchanger but the smaller tube.

IF you have power steering

Boats with V-Drives don't have typically have power steering.

I don't have power steering I have the Helm unit.
The only coolers listed for my engine are the transmission and one that runs thru the fuel pump module.

Update
It was the Transmission cooler.
I knew I was on the right track when i unscrewed the dipstick and didn't get the vacum whoosh.
When I took off the oil lines water came out of one them.
Replaced with a new one just have to drain and flush trans the fluid is milky.
Just ordered another one for Port side i'm sure its not far behind.
