Catching up on a couple of items I wanted to do.
One is a shout out to Southport Marina. Fantastic place.
When I was planning our trip north, chose to go to South Port instead of Baldhead. Love Baldhead, have been there in the past. Arrival on 7/3, leaving out the morning of the 4th. Did not want to deal with the vacation crowd at Baldhead.
Originally planned to be there one night. Arrive from Charleston late afternoon, fuel, leave the next morning. Little did I know...
Came in with an electrical issue with the engines. B positive ground issue on port caused a short which disabled the ECU.
Boat stayed there 9 days while the issue was diagnosed and resolved. During the time we flew back to Texas for a few days.
So Tuesday night I am on the phone with @bahamabrius lamenting my problem.
He told me there is no better place to spend 4th of July.
Real message here is we felt like we were adopted by the Marina and staff. What a wonderful place.
Morning of the 4th one of the staff suggested we go the parade downtown. We did - was wonderful.
Came back to the Marina, someone invited us to the members bbq. Was fabulous. That night we had the best seat in the house for the fireworks.
What could have been miserable - turned out fantastic.
Love this Marina - the staff there is fantastic. If you are traveling in the area and wondering where to stop - go to South Port... You will love it.
