On an '05 340, what size speakers will fit to replace the cockpit speakers? I am 3 hours away from the boat so can't run down and pull one out to measure.
Any recomendations for replacements that will fit without cutting the existing speaker holes? I am not looking to upgrade the whole system or for the most exotic/expensive. Just a good quality and sounding replacements for speakers that are 10 years old and sounding a little worn out.

6.5" stock speakers.....Wet Sounds/JL Audio/Polk.....there are several others that sound good also....use the search function...tons of info...if you go to a more powerful speaker (larger magnet) you'll need to use a spacer on your arch.

good luck

In addition to those brands, which all 3 offer different models to consider, I would also suggest looking at the Kicker KM654CW. Add an "L" in the model number ad they come with an RGB LED for some bling.

Wet Sounds has their premium 650 series which come in the silver spoke XS grill or the SW series which come in a black or white louvered grill. This speaker has the most output and can handle some serious power of you wanted. The 65 series is their mid level and also comes in the XS and SW grills. Its a great all around performing speaker. Its very comparable to the Kicker KM654 in terms of power handling and both have a .75" dome tweeter.

Out of the JL, i like the MX series with the .75" tweeter.

Hard to beat the Polk DB series at its price point, but I like the MM a little better.

Yeah they all "seem to fit" at first glance then the bigger magnet comes into play. I'm moving up to some wet sounds and need spacers now. Any recommendations on spacers?

6.5's are the standard hole for mine, and I added 7.7's on the arch with I believe 2.25" HDPE for spacers. I think you can see them somewhat on my sig pic. Works phenomenal.....

Get in touch with me for the Wet sounds gear guys! Jim and I have done a bunch of Wet Sounds installs and every customer is very happy. We just got done removing all of the JL gear from a brand new 2015 Mastercraft and replaced it all with Wet Sounds, night and day difference!

I found these on eBay for $70, they are their own custom design and have a video explaining them.
The lighted ones are cool but I'm just not up to running more wiring.
