This is my first post here and I hope someone can help me. I searched and also read my owners manual but am still a bit stumped.
I have a 2001 240 Sundeck. The speedo stopped working a few weeks ago so I assumed it was junk lodged in the hole on the outdrive. My boat is on a lift in the lake so working on that area isn't easy. I trimmed it up and crawled under the drive while sitting in an inner tube. Anyhow, even after looking at the picture in the owners manual I can not find the location of the little hole. I did find dent at the bottom of the straight portion in front of the water intake holes. The dent looks like no more than the impact from hitting something and if that is the hole is jammed shut.
Can someone either post an actual picture or tell me the approximate distance up the front of that straight section where I should look for the hole? In the drawing in my manual it looks to be about 1/3 of the way up but I see nothing close to a hole on mine at about that spot. The dent I see is almost at the bottom of the vertical section.
Thanks for any help you can provide me.
