The last item on the list before launch is the spin on fuel filters.
I am not sure if I should fill them with gas prior to putting them on, or just let the fuel pump fill them.....
TIA

Just put them on dry. The fuel pump will fill them very fast once you select the engine on.Wait and listen for the pump coming on and wait for it to turn-off after a few seconds.Fuel system should be pressurized at that point. Then start engine.

I have a manual pump on mine and I don't fill it prior to starting.
I would just cycle the key a few time before cranking and check for leaks before firing them up!

I've never personally experienced an airlock by letting the fuel pump do it's thing, but some have reported the opposite. Sometimes it just takes a bit more cranking, but it's never been extremely long. Doesn't hurt a thing to fill it, though. Your call.

I had to change mine 4 times when we bought some fuel that was 10% or more water in the bottom of the tank they ran out of gas while we were fueling up, luckily we only put about 10 gallons in. I just started the engine prior to changing the first one after that there should be enough gas in the carb to start it till the pump fills them.

I'd also pour the gas from the old filter in a clear container, let it sit 10-15 minutes to check for any water or particles in your fuel tank.

Great idea.... thanks

I always pour fuel in the filters. They hold a decent amount. 1 year i replaced dry and it took awhile to get engine started. I saw your boat in. Nice!

Fill the filter, if you have electric fuel pumps they do not like to run dry.. Volvo will not warranty any fuel pump failures due to dry running..This holds true to Yamaha also..
